What to style and what to keep plain
Use styled characters as a short visual accent. Keep names, links, hashtags, dates, prices, and other essential information in ordinary text.
- Screen readers may announce styled mathematical characters individually or incorrectly.
- Search, spell-checking, mentions, copying, and analytics may not treat styled characters as ordinary letters.
- Font support varies by operating system and app.
- Many alphabet-substitution styles cover Latin letters and digits only. Unsupported scripts and symbols remain unchanged and are reported.
- Underline and strikethrough use combining marks that may render unevenly.
What the platform presets do
LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook, and Threads presets change the preview and show a simple character-count reference. They do not model platform-specific counting rules, account-specific limits, native rich-text controls, or exact font rendering.

Is this real bold formatting?
No. It uses different Unicode characters that look bold or italic. The destination receives plain text containing those characters.
Can I style only part of a post?
Yes. Select a phrase before applying a style. With no selection, the selected style applies to the whole draft.
Why do some letters or symbols stay unchanged?
Each Unicode style supports a limited set of characters. Unsupported scripts, letters, or symbols stay readable and appear in the unsupported-character report.
What text should I avoid styling?
Keep names, links, hashtags, dates, prices, and other essential information in ordinary text. Use decorative styles for short accents that remain understandable without the styling.
Can I remove the special characters later?
Yes. Normalize converts supported styled alphabets back to ordinary text and removes underline or strikethrough combining marks.
Is my draft uploaded?
No. Styling, normalization, counts, and preview behavior run locally in your browser.
